KING FAISAL HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH CENTER CANCER THERAPY INSTITUTE
LOCATION:
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
SIZE:
140,000 sf (13,000 m2)
This  research laboratory and radiotherapy facility contains a CS20 Cyclotron (only the second in the world at the time) for producing short-life isotopes for therapy and research, an isocentric head, a 14 MEV neutron generator, a linear accelerator, and patient support. Also included are “hot labs,” pharmacology, radiation biology, entomology, bacteriology and biochemistry labs, as well as eight physical-chemistry labs, a positron camera, a Gamma Ray Sterilization Installation animal holding room, and an auditorium.

In addition to the laboratory facility, our firm also designed an 80,000 SF building for palletized storage of general hospital supplies and office space. The two-story office portion is for hospital personnel. The building is totally heated and cooled, with 8,000 SF heavily insulated for cold storage.
